“Work is love made visible”

- Khalil Gibran

Inside Out Leadership Accelerator (IOLA) is a unique high touch program designed for mid-career women leaders who want to mindfully accelerate their career without the constant overwhelm and burnout

All leaders I coach are high achievers who are committed to their work and have high aspirations. They genuinely want to feel good about their work, lead their teams effectively, and have a positive impact in their organization.

They are excellent at what they do, they get results, and are appreciated for it.

The issue is - they tend to get pulled into too many different projects because they’re excellent at what they do. In his book ‘The big leap’, psychologist Guy Hendricks calls this phenomenon “the excellence trap”.

When we’re caught in the excellence trap we feel that we have to ‘just say yes’ to meetings we’re not sure we should attend, to opportunities that others think we should take on, to all requests from our internal stakeholders or clients.

The consequence?

We feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or the dreaded burnout.

Those negative feelings makes it hard for us to access our creative and strategic potential.

This type of mental and emotional stress has an unseen negative impact on our engagement at work, and our wellbeing.

If you too feel this way, you probably think…

I don’t have much choice. The work needs to be done, and I’m really good at it.

No wonder you feel this way.

Feeling pressured to please people and saying yes to opportunities (and meetings) is normalized.

On the other hand, working from our Zone of Genius is not the norm.

Gallup research shows that 62-68% of US employees are not engaged at work.

The reasons that trigger this situation are complex, ranging from cultural norms, early conditioning, peer pressure, to self-doubt and limiting beliefs about what’s possible.

Of course, you might also think…

I should just quit this job!

This is always an option and it might well be the right next step. But keep in mind - our chimp brain produces a negativity bias which can result in cognitive errors such as “all or nothing”, polarized thinking.

Quitting your job will not fix the underlying issue.

Engrained mindsets and habits that led to overwhelm at this job will keep showing up until they’re acknowledged and upgraded.

Do you want to feel energized and put forward your most powerful work?

Imagine tackling the inner work needed to set yourself up to lead the projects or teams that really energize you.

I’m a big believer that each of us is here to contribute our unique genius to the tapestry of the world, every single day.

How do you bring out your authentic genius, and put forward your best work yet?

It requires a personal transformation, from the inside out.

I’ve seen this sort of transformation in countless coaching sessions, over and over.

It’s what led me to dig into data from client sessions, looking for recurring themes. As a researcher, I really wanted to understand its inner workings. I was curious - what are the levers we can pull to experience it?

From the insights I gathered, I found the following to be true:

The secret sauce is changing the way we operate: adopting empowering mindsets, acknowledging and validating our feelings, identifying our personal zone of genius.

And - intentionally communicate and make decisions that are aligned with our values.

Based on insights from 1,000+ coaching sessions, research into positive psychology and science of motivation, I created a unique fast-track program to help mid-career leaders intentionally tap their highest self as a leader.

There are 3 key inner obstacles that make up for 80% of why leaders don’t to do work they truly love

Every single leader I coach eventually gets to one or all three of these issues when we dive into their struggles at work.

We all know them. We hear about them constantly in popular culture.

But their ubiquity in popular culture often underestimates and even dilutes the realization of the devastating effect they can have on our ability to claim our power and build the career and life we want:

  • Impostor Syndrome

  • Perfectionism

  • People-Pleasing

These three “little” issues cause all kinds of trouble. My clients report that they’re:

  • Juggling too many projects and feeling little control over their workload

  • Unmotivated and overwhelmed in their role

  • Afraid to ask for help, assuming it’ll look bad

  • Finding it hard to say no to projects or set boundaries

  • Finding it hard to delegate, working long hours

  • Feeling stuck, work doesn’t feel meaningful

  • Constantly having to “prove themselves” or feeling like they don’t have what it takes

  • Considering leaving their job, but don’t really want to yet

And it’s no wonder we feel this way! We live in a society where we learn from a young age that we have to be perfect (aim for that A+ or else!), we have to be nice (if you say no, you’re rude!), and we constantly fall short compared to others (look at so and so, they did so much more!).

Guess what? Those are the old rules and we know better now.

It’s time to break those rules and live by a new set of principles that allow you to claim your power, do the work you’re here to do, and have the impact you want to have.

To be nobody but yourself
in a world which is doing its best to make you be like everybody else,
means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight;
and never stop fighting.
— E. E. Cummings

I help leaders with big dreams to overcome the impostor syndrome, people pleasing and perfectionism in order to go after work that truly energizes them.

Get ready to change the dynamic and step into your personal leadership so you can do work you’re here to do: get the meaningful projects, speak up more in critical meetings, and unapologetically to ask for what you really want.

Here’s what’s happening

I’m putting together a small group of leaders with big dreams to help them go after the juiciest, most impactful, energy–giving work they really want to do.

… Without all the hustling and overwhelm that often happens when you feel like you have to say yes to work and projects you don’t really want to do.

… Without keep doing work that doesn’t feel meaningful to you and feeling unmotivated or overwhelmed in your role.

… Without constantly feeling like you have to “prove yourself” or feeling like you don’t have what it takes.

… And without feeling like you have to hold back on your ideas and dreams, until one day when you’ll be perfectly ready.

Here are some results my clients created using the same strategies you’ll learn:

… A client decided to speak up more in large meetings and share her unique POV, and ended up creating a signature talk at Google which she’s now going to submit at the Grace Hopper Conference.

… Another client advocated for a promotion, and built up her confidence to make a case for herself by showcasing her contributions with stakeholders, something she avoided doing before.

… A client who had started her side gig decided to go full-in and quit her prestigious academic job, after previously believing it would make her look like “a quitter” and that it’ll hurt her career. She’s now writing a book about her newfound freedom to be her own boss.

… A client asked to lead a project she was in even though she had always believed that she was best behind the scenes, in a more technical role.

… Another client decided to say no to an opportunity that sounded great on paper, but wasn’t actually something he was truly aligned with (that is so so hard to do when we are bombarded with ‘scarcity-focused’ messages around us).

See Christina’s thoughts on the IOLA 2022 program

The Leadership Accelerator is a unique, immersive program designed to help leaders with high aspirations to get the work that truly energize them

The program includes 7 weekly group coaching sessions, a 1:1 private coaching session, self-assessment tools, and lots of powerful supporting materials to help you integrate the insights into your work after the program ends.

We'll use a tried and true powerful system to tackle imposter syndrome, perfectionism, people-pleasing, and burnout.

What’s included:

  • Pre-work:

Reacquaint with yourself: values, strengths, success to date, your intention for the program, changes you want, big dreams you have.

Define your own personal leadership brand.

Establish a clear vision for the work you really want to do and the impact you want to have.

Assess current energy around work; what’s the work that drains you & what’s the work you really want to do

  • Uncover what you can take more control of (own and expand your power!) and what you should stop doing (let yourself off the hook for what you can’t influence!)

  • Learn the game changing Energy Leadership mindset framework and begin to see where the IPPs (Imposter Syndrome, People Pleasing, Perfectionism) fit in

  • Leadership assessment and private coaching session, debriefing of your ELI report, which helps you identify your signature mindset in neutral & in stress

  • Learn & practice identifying inner barriers that prevent you from up-leveling your mindset.

Learn & practice up-leveling your mindset using the 6 box reframe tool.

  • Question the assumptions and beliefs underlying the Imposter syndrome tendencies, perfectionism, and people pleasing

Dismantle and replace mindsets that have been holding you back.

  • Inventory of projects that fall in your Zone of excellence vs. Zone of genius

  • Learn a framework for how to communicate and influence so you can go after work you want and set boundaries for work you don’t want to do

  • Prioritize projects matrix + Smart goals + go after projects & promotions so you can have the impact you want.

    Ending ceremony

Once you register:

  • You’ll get an Onboarding pre-assignment essential to fully owning your unique strengths and accomplishments to date, honing in on your vision and the work you really want to do. You’ll take inventory of what energizes and what drains + identify where the IPPs are stopping you. You’ll identify what’s the work that drains you & what’s the work you really want to do. Here you’ll do a deep dive and define your *Next Level Work*.

  • We’ll open up a Facebook/Slack group for introductions and for any questions you have about the material so far and have our Welcome Gathering on our first session, formally opening our space for *inner and outer transformation* .

  • Sessions will run 60 minutes with the option to stay another 30 minutes, depending on what’s needed (use this extra time to get mini-coaching support from me).

Imagine being able to:

  • Decide what work you really want to do and going after it unapologetically

  • Always being clear around the desired outcome of a meeting before you commit

  • Owning your effort and your own success

  • No longer playing small in any of your projects or ideas about what’s possible

  • Not holding back on creative insight even when it’s not fully baked, and being ok with sharing work-in-progress

  • Give constructive feedback rather than staying in people-pleasing mode

  • Saying no to projects that your team can't take on, or overtly asking to de-prioritize projects

  • Maximize your ability to do the kind of work that energizes you, is aligned with your values and talents so you can tap into flow and creativity

  • Most importantly, feel good about your work and your impact.

Your results are really important to me. For this reason, there is very limited space in the Inside Out Leadership Accelerator. You will not be sitting on calls with dozens of other people hoping to get your questions answered. You will get the level of attention you need and deserve.

Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers...

Q: Will this work for me?

This program works best if you’re an established leader, managing others or managing teams, and have a lot on your plate. Ideally, you have a sense of what your next move is - whether refocusing on projects you want at your current work, or a potential move into a new role in the near future.

You might find you connect with one of these 2 categories that my current clients fall into : a) you are bursting at the seams with work that is just too much to handle, b) workload is ok but much of it is not energizing and you’d love to do more of the current work that IS energizing you.

We’re also going to work relatively quickly, so if you’re the kind of person who needs to process a lot before every move, this might drive you nuts. Also, if you’re not motivated to take action, this program won’t bring you big results.

But if you are motivated and willing to move fast?

You will be happy -- because having finally figured out what work energizes you and how to go after it while feeling more empowered and supported? Game changer.

If you’re unclear about whether you’re ready, just ask!

Q: How much time do I need to commit to this program?

60 mins weekly sessions, and suggested 15-20 mins pre-work (videos and worksheets included). If you want more support, I’ll always be available another 30 mins after each weekly session.

Q: Will there be a lot of teaching and I’ll have to do a lot of listening?

No boring teaching from me! You’ll have have pre-class worksheets (a 15-20 mins pre-work). Weekly working sessions will be largely group coaching - we’ll workshop specific issues you’ll bring up in the group.

Q: What if I can’t make the live sessions?

Of course we’d love to have you live and hope you can clear the space in your schedule; however, the calls will be recorded and made available to all participants. You’ll be able to catch up on what you missed or re-watch whenever you like.

Q: What if I can’t afford this investment but really wish I could do this?

Please reach out about pricing. I want to be an active participant in inclusiveness, justice, and sustainability. That is why I price my programs the way I do - in the goldilocks zone - because I want to bring integrity to my own work, including the icky, loaded area of money, and encourage my clients to do the same.

For those who pay out of pocket (i.e. for the annual public program for individuals, where the price is not covered by your organization), know that my pricing includes scholarships. So please reach out and I’ll be happy to discuss offering you one of the two scholarships available for this program.
